This stunning Victorian semi-detached house in Harbord Village was renovated and expanded with great care and attention to detail. The interiors were a mix of ornate Victorian detailing, with modern, glamorous finishes that offset each other. Rich, natural materials like marbles, unlaquered brass, and lightweight concrete panels tell the story of the design intention: timelessness and graceful ageing.
The dining room was located at the front of the house, with the kitchen at the heart and the living room at the rear, opening onto a lush rear yard through oversized sliding doors. Victorian ornate meets modern sleekness in the living room where a layer of rustic, plaster finish was added to a brick wall, while the opposite walls are adorned with delicate plaster mouldings. An off-centre fireplace and bookshelf frame the accent wall, and provide space for art as well.
